We cannot stress enough that EVERYONE is welcome to post here. We welcome all challenges and all fics, and we promise not to laugh. I mean, you should read some of the stuff Daz and Dan write. It's really insane!!!!
FIRST AND FOREMOST, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, JUST ASK. I REMEMBER BEING NEW HERE, SO IF YOU'RE A NEWBIE AND YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO SOMETHING, HTML RELATED OR OTHERWISE, JUST ASK AND YE SHALL RECIEVE.
(1.) Please, if it is a slash fiction, say so in the heading, and always post the story behind an LJ cut. If it's not cut, we will let you know that we are trashing it, and give you a chance to cut it properly. Don't know how to LJ cut? How to do a pesky LJ cut
(2.) Also, as for any romantic scene, we feel that graphic detail isn't necessary. We don't need to know who's putting what where and with which velocity. We're not prudish though. Are 2 people in the middle of gettin' down and someone walks in on them and that is pertinent to the story? That's OK. JUST CUT IT AND RATE IT.
(3.) MAKE SURE YOU PROOFREAD. If you want a beta, let us know. We'll check it over for ya. :)
(4.) Everyone has posting access. If you break rule 1 or 2, we'll have to bump you back to monitored status, but only for a little while. This hasn't happened yet, and we don't think it will happen in the future.
(5.) Always rate your fic. If it's anything over a PG, please sum up why. Example: Rating:PG13 for some violence or Rating:R for vulgar language and sexual innuendo, ect. If ever you dispute a rating, e-mail me at the above address with the subject 'Would like to dispute fic rating' and I will take care of it, no questions asked.
(6.) Other than that, ENJOY AND HAVE FUN AND WRITE WRITE WRITE.
General Rating Scale posted as of 2/18/06
This is only a guideline to help newbies understand what rating goes for what content:
G: Disney to the maxx. 0% violence, 0% sex, 0% language.
PG/(Y)outh: Minor violence, such as a fight or chase scene. Some language minus the F word.
PG13/(T)een: Violence where there may be some gore or death. Sexual innuendo. 4 letter words.
R/(M)ature: Lewed or lavicious activity, hardcore violence, vulgar language, drug content.
If you post a fic-challenge, it is reccomended that there be minimun of 3 "must-haves" to make it interesting. Please feel free to make them as silly/outrageous/zany as you wish. We love trying to fit in a "Sometimes I wish I didn't have this huge lump on my thigh" quote into a story.
I stumbled across this site one day, and have found it extremely helpful. I am one of those who write novels in my spare time, so this is a most wonderful find. HOW TO WRITE GOOD FICTION
